Cookie Policy
Cookies, local storage, analytics, advertising, and privacy choices on HytaleCharacter.com
2026/07/24
Overview
This Cookie Policy explains how HytaleCharacter.com uses cookies and similar technologies such as local storage. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.
Cookies are small files stored by a browser. Local storage keeps information in the browser without sending it automatically with every request. Some technologies are essential to operate the site; optional analytics and advertising technologies depend on the privacy choices available to you.
Essential Technologies
Essential technologies support functions you request and are not used for advertising personalization. They may include:
- authentication and session cookies used by Better Auth and Google OAuth;
- security, anti-abuse, and request-integrity data;
- a theme preference stored in the browser;
- protected-area interface preferences; and
hc_vid, a first-party, HTTP-only identifier that prevents the same browser from being counted repeatedly for the same preset on the same day. It expires after 90 days.
Blocking essential cookies may prevent sign-in, saved presets, account settings, or security features from working.
Google's Consent Management Platform
The site uses Google's certified Privacy & messaging consent management platform (CMP) for applicable European and US state privacy messages. The CMP may store a Transparency and Consent Framework (TCF) string, Global Privacy Platform (GPP) signal, or related consent record so that Google and listed vendors can respect your choices.
Google Consent Mode defaults are set to denied for:
analytics_storage;ad_storage;ad_user_data; andad_personalization.
Google's CMP updates the applicable signals after you make a choice. The AdSense publisher tag is present to verify the site and deliver the published CMP message; the site does not intentionally place ad units before AdSense approval.
Google Analytics
Google Analytics 4 is implemented in basic consent mode. Its tag is not requested until Google's CMP reports that analytics storage is granted or that the consent purpose is not applicable for the visitor.
When enabled, Google Analytics may use cookies such as _ga and process page URL, referrer, approximate location derived from IP address, browser or device information, and interaction events. Google controls its cookie lifetimes and product retention under the configured property settings and its policies.
If analytics consent is denied or still pending, the site does not load the Google Analytics tag.
Advertising
If AdSense advertising is enabled after approval, Google and the advertising technology providers listed in the CMP may use cookies or similar identifiers for ad delivery, frequency control, fraud prevention, measurement, and—only where permitted by your choices—personalization.
Non-personalized advertising can still require storage for functions such as fraud prevention and frequency control. In locations where consent is required, Google's certified CMP controls the applicable consent signals.
Your Choices
Select Privacy choices in the footer to reopen Google's privacy and cookie settings. The control calls Google's official consent revocation flow. Eligible US visitors may also see Google's “Do Not Sell or Share” control.
You can also delete or block cookies in your browser. Browser controls do not always remove consent records held by third-party providers, so use the site's Privacy choices control when available.
Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal. Your new choice applies to future tag behavior after the CMP updates the consent signal.
Changes and Contact
We may update this policy when providers, cookie purposes, or legal requirements change. The date at the top identifies the latest revision.
